The Table for 2009 states that the start of the Fourth Quarter is Friday, Oct 2nd or Thursday, Oct 8th. A chart generated by the MM software stated that the Fourth Quarter was reset to Friday, October 2nd, 2009. This suggests that the 2010 First Quarter starts on Tuesday, Jan 5th or Monday, Jan 11th.
An S&P chart made by the Murrey Math software shows that the Fourth Quarter was reset to Friday, October 9, 2009.
In 1993-1998, THM started the First Quarter a little after January 4th (perihelion). THM shows a preference for starting a new quarter on a Monday or Friday.
I will set the start of the 2010 First Quarter on Tuesday, Jan 5, 2010. If you prefer, you can shift the starting day to Mon, Jan 11th. However, this would be a VERY late start for the First Quarter.
This represents a "correction" of 4 days. If you wish to use a "correction" of 5 days, then add one trading day to the date listed in the table. For instance, "Tue, Jan 5th" would be changed to "Wed, Jan 6".
Please email me if you find proof of the "official" start of the 2009 Fourth Quarter.
