underneath the lower sash to detect when the window is opened
- Some windows have a raised lip in that exact location
(called a dam system) which prevents the flush mount alarm from being
installed
- Many manufacturers do not permit holes to be drilled through the
frame of the window (for the flush mount alarm)
- The installer will lead the wires to the inside of the window,
and allow the alarm company to connect using a surface mount alarm
on the face of the frame itself
