Pesavento Map (aka Ensign Map) (03/09)
- How to Use the Pesavento (Ensign) Map
- Open a 2-min chart of the QQQQ
- Chart Properties --> Candlesticks; Close vs. Open
- Data Properties --> 65000 Maximum Bars
- Refresh --> Maximum (load the chart file)
- Align the chart to yesterday's close (16:00)
- Map Title (Map hh:mm xx.yy) will show in the upper left corner of the chart
- Studies --> Ensign Map (use default settings initially)
- Recalculate Manual = key - if checked, the Map will be recalculated when you press the "=" key
(you can move the chart, recalculate, move the chart, recalculate)
- Invert Pattern - unchecked shows you the "normal" pattern
- Lock Shift L/R - unchecked allows shifting the Map to align swings
- Equal Weights - unchecked gives recent patterns a higher weighting in evaluations
- Show Rating (in the Map Title -- Map hh:mm xx.yy)
- hh:mm shows when the Map was calculated
- xx.yy gives the "normal rating", "a dot", and the "inverted rating"
- 24 -- possible, but rare
- 20-10 -- good fit
- 10 -- transition between good and poor
- 9-0 -- poor fit
- Rating is based on the visible bars, and changes as the rightmost bar scrolls
- Rating is reset to zero at the day boundary
- All the visible data is used in a calculation
- When you close and reopen the chart, the chart will be updated and the Ensign Map will use all
available data (if the last bar is not at the right edge of the chart)
- Moving the base chart and Ensign map together
- Hold-and-drag = move the base chart and Ensign map together
- Shift + "<" = shift left "x" bars (default setting)
- Shift + ">" = shift right "x" bars (default setting)
- Adjusting the position/size of the QQQQ chart (base chart)
- Left Arrow = taller candles
- Right Arrow = shorter candles
- Up Arrow = move candles up the chart
- Down Arrow = move candles down the chart
- Adjusting the position/size of the Ensign Map (overlay)
- Comma (",") = shift Ensign map 1 bar to the left
- Period (".") = shift Ensign map 1 bar to the right
- Shift + Left Arrow = shorter pattern
- Shift + Right Arrow = taller pattern
- Shift + Up Arrow = move Ensign map up the chart
- Shift + Down Arrow = move Ensign map down the chart

Advance Decline Volume @ marketvolume.com (01/10)
- If a particular security is currently trading below its close the previous trading day,
its volume is added to the total volume of the declines group.
- "Declines volume" is the running total (cumulative sum) of the number of shares traded
for all those securities that belong to the declines group for a given time period.
- Both the advances and the declines volume tend to increase as the trading day progresses
(Cumulative Advance/Decline Volume).
- Momentum Advance/Decline Volume shows the actual number of shares that traded in the
advances and declines volume segments (for a given bar).
- Thus the Momentum Advance/Decline Volume reflects the volume activity associated with
a particular bar.
